What I've learnt about God:
Compared to us, He is so much larger and more powerful and more important than we can imagine. We are very ego centric as humans, but we are nothingness compared to God.
What I've learnt about me:
David here clearly shows that in trying to not sin it's an active thing, he is guarding his ways. In the same way, we must guard ourselves against sin.
