What I've learnt about God:
How can He tell us what He wants when we're not asking or listening? Look at the actions of the men, at any point are they trying to work out what God wants? No. God's will prevails always, but better outcomes can be achieved by talking to God.
What I've learnt about me:
I'm very glad I live in modern day not back then.
