Day 5: Gospels and Epistles - Luke 2:22-52

What I've learnt about God:
God guides us in what we do. Simeon probably wasn't thinking "I must go to the temple today to meet the saviour" but the Holy Spirit still got him there. In fact the Holy Spirit will get us wherever God needs us to be! He also allowed Mary and Joseph to assume Jesus was with them, in order that Jesus could spend that time in the temple. God will place us in the situation that is right for us, it may just take us a while to see why he's done it.

What I've learnt about me:
I'm a worrier about the future. I worried about going to university and was distraught when I didn't get into my first choice, but saw that God has placed me in Glasgow for a reason. I worried that with my year abroad I wouldn't have good Christian teaching, but instead I grew immensely in my faith on my year abroad because of the awesome people at IVCF and the true encouragement I got from them. Now I'm looking at what to do post uni and I need to stop worrying, and remember that God will place me wherever He wants me to be.
