Day 2: Pentateuch and History of Israel - Genesis 2

What I've learnt about God:
I love the image of God resting, I think so often we forget how relatable God is. Goodness me if I'd just crafted everything I'd definitely be resting!! This passage also shows God's caring side, creating the helper for Adam, giving him Eve, giving them both the amazing garden of Eden. Also it's so cool that nowadays we can look on a map and plot 2 possible places where Eden might have been, it's such a great reminder this is real and fact.

What I've learnt about me:
I'd like to start setting aside the Sunday as a rest day. I already go to church etc on a Sunday, but I'd like to dedicate the non-church time not to doing uni work or anything but resting, having that day fully set apart from the others. I'm not saying it'll be 24 hours of constant prayer or anything, but it might help me reflect on all God's blessed me with. Also, as always the reminder in that passage about marriage. It's hard nowadays to argue against gay marriage without sounding homophobic, but I'm always struck by the clarity here and the image of them becoming one flesh not to be separated. It's an interesting topic to talk on, and not one I'll go into here!
