What I've learnt about God:
There's a lot about the permanence of God here, He sits enthroned forever (v7), He does not forget the cry of the afflicted (verse 12) etc. I find this very comforting because it means he doesn't change and is the same. Also in this psalm I enjoy the image of God being a stronghold as it means when things are bad I can shelter under Him.
What I've learnt about me:
I can sometimes feel like God has forsaken me or forgotten me so it's great to have this reminded that it is not the case at all.
Verse of the day:
Psalm 9:9 The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.
