Day 1: Pentateuch and History of Israel - Genesis 1

What I've learnt about God:
He created everything! Okay so this isn't a new thing I've learnt, but if you just stop and think about all the amazing things in the world then oh my goodness it's just incredible! The picture which is my blog header is of a lake in Canada called Lake Louise, which is surrounded by mountains and because of the soil around it is the clearest most perfect turquoisey blue colour ever. God created it. I've also been blessed enough to camp in the middle of the Australian outback and stare up at all the stars. God created every single one of those. But it's not just the big things God created, it's the little things to - He created your favourite flower, He created your pet animal, the gorgeous wildlife you see on all those nature documentaries. But best of all He created us, each of us was created by Him in His image. What a blessing.

What I've learnt about me:
I often put God in a box, I forget just how awesome He is and how much He can do! He created everything so why do I assume that He can't help me with problem x, y and z?

Challenge:
Oo a challenge, exciting! Every morning I'm going to wake up and try and thank God for something in His creation that I haven't thanked Him for yet. I'm going to keep a list and at the end I'll post up the 365 things that I've thanked Him for. You should join in!

Side Note:
In case you're wondering (I know I was), pentateuch means the first five books of the bible!
